Worry not, fragile and gentle ladies of the digital world. You have surely long been intimidated, nay, terrified, of the Internet, and by all those complicated gadgets your big strong man is always tapping away on. But now, at long last, you too can join the fun. A new electronic product has been built just for you, you fair and simple creatures: it comes in pink, and it arrives pre-loaded with everything a bunch of men assume you'll need: apps to help you cook, shop, and watch your weight.

It's called the ePad Femme. Ars Technica will tell you all about it:

The tablet was first announced back in October but received a marketing push in February as “the perfect Valentine’s Day gift,”... ” Eurostar calls the ePad Femme "the first tablet specifically for ladies."Several sites highlight that the tablet “comes in light pink.”

Good gracious, how delightful! According to the company's CEO, Mani Nair, you lovely ladies can “just turn it on and log in to cooking recipes or yoga.” You see, he said, it “makes a perfect gadget for a woman who might find difficulties in terms of downloading these applications and it is a quick reference.”

Downloading apps is no task suitable for a woman, after all. Only a man could possibly successfully navigate the wilds of the App Store—wait do you press the green button or the picture of the app or do you just talk into your tablet and tell it you want it? It's so confusing! Thankfully, Mani Nair and his team of engineers is here to spare you the trouble, and he knows already exactly what you will want to download, too: clothes apps, weight-watching apps, recipe apps, and the "Shopping List" app, of course.

Seriously. A Shopping List app, pre-loaded. By men, for women. This is one sexist-ass product. It's the first tablet designed specifically for women, maybe; for women as men-led marketing departments conceived of them in the 1950s. Dodge La Femme, anyone? How far we've come.
